“Look how beautiful you are” by Massimiliano Precisi is a punch in the stomach disguised as a compliment. The seemingly flattering title, written in childish characters on a sugar pink background, is a visual trap that contrasts with the central face: a grotesque figure, an explosive mix of colors, layers and deformities. The gnashed teeth, the solitary eye that emerges like a beacon and the pictorial chaos around speak of vulnerability and social criticism.

The pink of the background does not soothe the visual impact, but amplifies the irony: beauty is no longer an ideal, but a distorted illusion. Precisi uses acrylics with a fierce, almost angry gesture, which makes each brush stroke emerge as a provocation. The work is a distorting mirror that asks us: “Who is beautiful? And who decides what is beautiful?”
