“Little Red Riding Hood” by Massimiliano Precisi is a work that dismantles the traditional tale and reassembles it in a disturbing and satirical narration. The protagonist is not the sweet little girl of the fairy tale, but a fragmented entity, in which the face breaks down into a mosaic of eyes, masks and symbols. The green and turquoise background, apparently innocent, contrasts with the visual tension created by the central figure, dressed in the classic red, but deformed in her features.

The use of mixed media on wood gives the work a materiality that amplifies its emotional impact. The golden frame, almost anachronistic, seems to ironize on the "sacredness" of the fairy tale itself, transforming it into a disturbing game of appearances. Precisi reminds us that even an innocent story can hide hypocrisy and falsehood, inviting us to see beyond the masks that the wolf, or Little Red Riding Hood, might wear. A small masterpiece of desecration.
