Vicode uses digital tools and artificial intelligence systems to support certain stages of its creative, editorial and communication processes.

Technology is used as a tool for development and experimentation. It does not replace the curatorial research, art direction, product selection and human oversight that define the Vicode project.

Written content

Artificial intelligence tools may be used to support:

• the development of editorial ideas and structures;
• the preparation of initial drafts;
• the improvement of the clarity and organisation of written content;
• the adaptation or translation of content;
• communication and product-description activities.

All published content is reviewed, verified, edited and approved by Vicode before publication.

Information relating to products, materials, dimensions, availability, prices, provenance, artists and purchasing conditions is checked against the available information and the details of the products actually offered for sale.

Vicode retains editorial responsibility for all published content and does not use artificial intelligence systems to make automated decisions concerning its customers.

Product images

Product pages may contain different types of images.

Real photographs

Images showing products against a neutral or white background are real studio photographs and depict the product actually available for sale or a real piece from the same collection, as specified on the relevant product page.

For unique pieces, the real photographs depict the specific item offered for sale, unless otherwise stated.

Styled images

Some product pages may include styled images created or processed with the support of artificial intelligence tools.

These images are intended for illustrative, editorial and inspirational purposes. They are designed to suggest possible relationships between the product, its surrounding space, light, materials and other furnishing elements.

Digital settings do not necessarily represent an existing physical space and may include digitally generated or modified furniture, surfaces, lighting, architectural features or other elements.

Vicode selects and reviews these images with the aim of preserving the product’s essential and recognisable characteristics. However, styled images should not be regarded as a technical or perfectly scaled representation of the product within a real space.

To assess the product’s shape, finish, colour, material, proportions and dimensions, customers should refer to:

• the real photographs included in the image gallery;
• the product-page description;
• the stated measurements and technical specifications;
• any additional information provided by Vicode.

Real photographs, product descriptions and technical information take precedence over styled images provided solely for illustrative purposes.

Colour accuracy and handcrafted characteristics

The colours displayed may vary depending on the device, screen settings, lighting conditions and the environment in which the images are viewed.

Many products selected by Vicode are handcrafted, handmade or offered as unique pieces. Minor variations in colour, shape, surface, texture, glaze, material or dimensions are inherent characteristics of artisanal production and should not necessarily be regarded as product defects.

Styled images may also present lighting and colour differently from real studio photographs.

Human oversight and editorial responsibility

Artificial intelligence tools are used as a support and do not independently publish any content.

Vicode applies human oversight to all images and written content before publication and may:

• select or reject generated content;
• edit or refine it;
• correct inaccuracies or inconsistencies;
• verify its consistency with the product and the identity of the brand;
• replace or remove it.

By publishing content, Vicode assumes editorial responsibility for that content.

Transparency regarding digital images

Where a styled image has been generated or significantly modified using artificial intelligence tools, Vicode may accompany it with wording such as:

This notice is intended to distinguish illustrative images from real product photographs without compromising the visual and editorial experience of the gallery.

Uses not made by Vicode

Vicode does not use artificial intelligence to:

• automatically determine whether a customer is eligible to make a purchase;
• assign personal scores, ratings or classifications;
• make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on a customer;
• perform biometric identification or emotion recognition;
• replace human oversight of the commercial information published on the website.

Any fraud-prevention controls or automated checks carried out independently by Shopify, payment providers or other service providers are governed by their respective policies and terms.

Updates

Vicode may update this page to reflect developments in the tools used, changes in its content-production processes or changes in applicable legislation.

The date of the most recent update is shown at the beginning of the page.
