Le Marais uses a decidedly graphic language. The large checkerboard does not function as a minute fantasy, but divides the entire surface into broad fields and makes the garment recognizable even from a distance.

Black and mud reduce the chromatic impact and let geometry and fabric structure build the character. The original description also refers to a textured surface, which makes the design less flat and more sensitive to light.
