A work created on a day that seems to bend the ordinary rules of the calendar: February 29, 1988. It's no coincidence that this majestic abstract geometric painting by Balistreri is named "Explosion 2 - Compression and Dilation SPACE-TIME," openly declaring its conceptual ambition. Abandoning figuration or landscape synthesis, the artist from Lucca projects us into a purely abstract, almost astrophysical dimension, where the canvas becomes a field of invisible forces in perpetual tension.

Against a blue background, rendered textural by delicate, dense stippling, the artist orchestrates a simulated chaos governed by rigorous geometries.
