With "Vele Sguardo" (Sail Gaze), the geometric painting by Matteo Balistreri approaches an aesthetic that winks at Pop-Surrealism and Cloisonnism, using thick and decisive black lines to cage fields of pure, two-dimensional color.

The entire composition is a refined psychological enigma. The organic shape of an enormous eye, reminiscent of the taut lines of sails in the wind, horizontally cuts an abstract space made of blue skies, yellow suns, and rigorous diagonal earth-colored lines.
