Traccia Ancestrale (Ancestral Trace) is a totemic ceramic sculpture by Gabriella Gaudino and Roberto Giuntoli. The volume, hand-sculpted and covered in warm, dusty tones, is streaked with thin black marks that resemble ancient writing. The vertical form, suspended between an urn and a totem, transforms material and graphic design into a silent and contemporary presence.

Product Description

The form of Ancestral Trace evokes a small totem or a ceremonial urn, but avoids any literal references. The volume develops in height through compact proportions and a deliberately irregular surface, on which pink, ochre, and beige overlap like layers of sedimented earth.

On this textured background, Gabriella Gaudino and Roberto Giuntoli intervene with thin and discontinuous black lines. The signs do not form a text to be read, but suggest an imaginary calligraphy: traces, maps, and fragments of a memory entrusted to the ceramic. The contrast between the solidity of the form and the lightness of the design constructs the identity of the work.

Ancestral Trace can be displayed on a console, a side cabinet, or a pedestal, allowing sufficient space to observe its profile and decoration. The earthy tones interact with dark woods, stone, burnished metals, and neutral walls, while a side light highlights the stratification of the surface.

Use and care

The sculpture is intended for indoor display. Do not fill it with water and clean it exclusively with a soft, dry cloth, avoiding detergents and abrasive materials.
