Golden light, ochre-colored houses, the sound of shoes on cobblestones. This is how we arrived in Bisbal d’Empordà: tired, but with bright eyes. The air smelled of earth and enamel, while the sun filtered through the branches and danced on the ceramics hanging on the walls.
It was the second stop on our summer trip between Provence and the Catalan coast. A sought-after stop, not for its tourist attractions, but for something deeper: to find objects that tell stories, that allow themselves to be carried away only by those who know how to listen to them.
Beyond the shop windows
Bisbal does not reveal itself to those in a hurry. It has no postcard monuments. But it has something rare: a soul.
We walked along the main street, where the real treasures are hidden behind faded shop windows, in semi-empty brocantes, in workshops with open doors. Ceramics, here, are not “products”. They are memory, they are hands. They are stories.
And it was there, far from the beaten track, that we found what we were looking for without knowing it.
Love at first sight
We were already in the car, ready to leave. Then, a shop window.
A splash of color. Geometric lines, clean shapes, deep glazes. We braked. Turned back. And in that moment, everything made sense.
Those objects seemed to speak to us. They were the same shapes you find today in our Geometric Decorations collection. An inspiration born by chance, or perhaps from a meeting written in our path.
From Bisbal to your home
We chose them one by one. Looking at them, touching them, imagining them already in the homes of those who love design, balance, and materiality.
Now they are on VICODE. But for us, they remain linked to that light, to that moment. To that curve taken in the car that changed our journey.
In Bisbal d’Empordà, we left a piece of our heart.
