Ombre della Mente (Shadows of the Mind) does not construct the body through defined contours. Rather, the figure seems to emerge from the surface and then recede back into it, like an image only temporarily held by matter.

This document describes the work within R95’s oeuvre and connects it to a practice where painting, collage, discarded materials, and abandoned surfaces all enter the same visual field.

The height of 123 centimeters accentuates this fragile verticality, allowing the work to function as an autonomous presence on a relatively bare wall. The natural cantilevered frame keeps the relationship between the pictorial surface and the material legible.
