Fulcro is a ceramic sculpture-vase constructed on a deliberately imperfect balance. The large central opening forms an asymmetrical U, while the two ends rise with different inclinations and heights. In the intense peacock green, muted by the chalky surface, the form takes on a graphic and almost architectural presence.

Product Description

Fulcro plays with an immediately recognizable figure, taking it out of balance. The U widens at the base, completely empties in the center, and then rises through two arms that do not seek the same height or the same inclination.

CASAKŪ starts from the abstract image of a two-pan balance, but removes every descriptive element. Only weight, tension, and the idea of two opposing forces remain. The large empty space enclosed by the ceramic thus becomes as important as the material that defines it.

Compared to the more compact version of the same family, Fulcro further develops verticality. Its 29-centimeter height allows the two sides to gain momentum and makes the difference between the ends more evident. The shape also changes significantly when viewed from the side or three-quarters, revealing the body's thickness and the depth of the two upper openings.

It is one of those design vases that do not need to be filled to find a function in space. Its geometry is already a composition: on a console, a sideboard, or a bookshelf, it can live alone or be combined with lower, more regular volumes to create a contrast.

Peacock green radically changes its perception. It is a deep color, suspended between green and blue, which, on the GESSO finish, loses all brilliance and acquires a more dusty and sophisticated quality. Alongside dark woods, light marble, travertine, burnished brass, or natural fabrics, it creates a strong chromatic accent without being intrusive.

Fulcro is conceived and designed by CASAKŪ and then handcrafted in Indonesia. The unique surface is created using a technique developed with the artisans through the application of a plaster primer, responsible for the soft, matte, and tactile finish that characterizes the entire GESSO collection.

The result is contemporary artistic ceramic where form and void have the same weight: not just a simple container, but an object designed to modify the composition of the space around it.

The interior is left raw and not waterproofed: the vase is not suitable for holding water. It can be used as a sculptural element or with only dry stems and arrangements.
