Corno Africano is a hand-carved bone sculpture, featuring a matte black surface engraved with geometric patterns. Its vertical and tapered shape gives it a totemic presence, while the felt base protects the support surface. In the Vicode selection, it now joins the 1970s Objects collection, replacing its previous name.

Product Description

The object's strength derives primarily from its profile. The form develops vertically and maintains a relatively thin cross-section, allowing the horn to be used as a small totemic marker on a shelf or console.

The black surface is interrupted by geometric incisions that become more legible with side lighting. The contrast between the dark background and the incised mark avoids the need for additional chromatic elements.

Within the context of 1970s Objects, the piece also reflects the interest of design and interior decoration of that period in natural materials, organic forms, and cultural contaminations. This does not necessarily attribute the object's creation to the 1970s if dating is not documented: the placement concerns curatorial research and aesthetic language.
