Notte Siderale (Sidereal Night) is a black ceramic vase from Sejnane, hand-shaped and perforated by Mufida. Small circular openings cross the cylindrical body like a constellation, lightening the volume and allowing matter, light, and shadow to interact.

The smoked black finish is marked by a delicate ash-colored presence.

Product Description

Notte Siderale is born from the encounter between a compact volume and a succession of small voids. Mufida builds the cylindrical body without a potter's wheel and manually perforates the surface, creating openings that differ in size, distance, and inclination.

The perforations do not form a strictly geometric pattern. They are distributed on the ceramic like luminous points observed in a dark sky, making the form lighter and allowing the background to be glimpsed through the material.

Firing under straw gives the vase a deep black hue, crossed by anthracite reflections and a lighter trace at the base. Placed near a brightly lit wall or against a contrasting background, the pattern of the openings becomes even more evident. It can be displayed on a sideboard, a bookshelf, or a table as a small sculptural architecture.

Use and care
The perforated structure and the porosity of the terracotta make the vase unsuitable for holding water. Use it as a decorative sculpture or with light dry arrangements. Do not insert candles or open flames; clean with a soft, dry cloth.

Each hole retains a slightly different edge and shape, while the smoke-firing produces irreplicable nuances. Notte Siderale is not born from an industrial module, but from the rhythm of Mufida's hand.
