Soglia Segreta (Secret Threshold) is an oak wood sculpture by Stefano Puzzuoli – Estebanland, hand-carved from reclaimed solid wood. Two curved elements meet at the top, forming an open arch, a cross between a portal, an abstract sculpture, and a single-flower object.

Product Description

Soglia Segreta (Secret Threshold) is built around an empty space. Two curved columns come together to form an arch, leaving an opening in the center that becomes an integral part of the sculpture.

Stefano Puzzuoli works with salvaged solid oak, following the natural grain and characteristics of the wood. The surface is smoothed without completely erasing the material, and the geometry retains slight variations that highlight the handmade construction.

The opening allows the sculpture to continuously alter its relationship with its surroundings: a wall, a book, or another object becomes visible through the portal. It can be left completely free or used as a single-stem vase. If using fresh flowers, it is advisable to insert a small waterproof test tube to prevent prolonged contact of water with the wood.

Use and care

Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid harsh detergents, excessive water, sudden temperature changes, and very humid environments.

The charm of handmade

Grain, profile variations, and minor irregularities are inherent to the material chosen by Estebanland and to the sculpting process. Each piece therefore retains a unique relationship between solid wood and the central opening.
