Lava Gem – 70s Vintage Ceramic Jug

Lava Gem arises from the tension between a rigorous form and an unpredictable surface. The structure of the pitcher is built with clean lines, geometric openings, and clearly defined volumes; the glaze, however, reacts freely, settling in varying drips and thick deposits.

The volcanic red varies from the brightest crimson to dark, deep areas. The finish evokes an incandescent material that has slowly solidified on the ceramic body, making each side different and accentuating the experimental character of 1970s design.

Due to its significant size, Lava Gem can become the focal point of a sideboard, a large console, or a table. It doesn't require flowers: the relationship between geometry and glaze already possesses its own completeness. Paired with dark wood, metal, smoked glass, or light stone, it introduces a strong chromatic accent without losing its historical authenticity.

Use and care

As a vintage piece, we recommend its use for decorative purposes only. Do not fill the pitcher with water and do not subject it to washing or thermal shock. Dust with a soft, completely dry cloth.
