Ciotola Bassa Sfumata is a ceramic bowl from Sejnane, hand-shaped by artisan Zohra.

Its open form highlights the natural shades of the clay, ranging from ivory to beige and sand, interspersed with black and gray hues produced by fire and smoke firing.

Product Description

Zohra models the bowl without a wheel, creating a low, slightly irregular profile. The wide opening immediately reveals the internal surface and transforms the piece into a horizontal composition, closer to a small sculpture than a traditional vessel.

The palette comes directly from the material and firing process. The light colors of the clay remain visible in less exposed areas, while contact with fire and smoke creates black marks and grey transitions. Small raised details along the rim add a subtle tactile element.

It can be used as a catch-all tray, a decorative centerpiece, or a surface for collecting small dry objects. On a wooden table, a sideboard, or a stone console, its low form allows for easy observation of the entire chromatic design.

Use and Care

Sejnane terracotta is porous and not suitable for contact with water or liquid foods. Use the bowl exclusively for decorative purposes or to hold dry objects. Clean with a soft, dry cloth.

The profile, nuances, and small raised details on the rim result from Zohra's direct work and the unpredictable action of fire. Each bowl therefore presents a different design. An object selected by Vicode to connect decorative function, artisanal knowledge, and non-standardized beauty.
