Double Light – Geometric Sculpture in White Glazed Ceramic

Doppia Luce is born from the repetition of a single opening. Two large octagonal cavities are placed side-by-side and joined at the center, creating a horizontal form where matter and void seem to have exactly the same weight.

The geometry is easy to read but changes significantly depending on the viewing angle. From the front, the symmetry of the two openings prevails; moving to a three-quarter view, the five and a half centimeters of depth reveal internal surfaces, edges, and multifaceted planes. The two-dimensional design thus becomes a small architectural volume.

The external profile also contributes to the composition. The ends and corners are neither perfectly circular nor rigidly orthogonal: they follow the polygonal shape of the openings and create a continuous rhythm that guides the gaze from one side to the other.

The ivory white makes this piece particularly sensitive to light. The frontal surfaces appear more uniform, while inside the cavities, the color gradually changes through shadows and reflections. The slight variations in the glaze and material remain visible, distinguishing the form from industrial perfection.

Selected in La Bisbal d'Empordà, Doppia Luce joins the Echi di Geometria collection, where openings, modules, and structures are observed as small autonomous architectural elements and transformed into sculptural objects for contemporary interiors.

Its low and elongated proportion makes it suitable for a shelf, a bookcase, a console table, or a tabletop arrangement. By leaving free space behind the two openings, the background visually enters the object and helps modify its perception.

Glazed ceramic must be handled gently. For routine cleaning, use a soft, dry cloth; when necessary, you can gently wipe with a cloth lightly dampened with water and immediately dry the surface. Avoid harsh detergents, abrasive sponges, impacts, and thermal shocks.
