Primitive Shield is a sculptural vase made of black Sejnane ceramic, hand-molded by Hanene. The cylindrical body is punctuated by reliefs resembling small studs or clay shields, while firing under straw gives the surface black and anthracite hues.

Product Description

Scudo Primitivo starts from a stable and rigorous cylindrical shape. On this essential structure, Hanene applies a succession of rounded reliefs that interrupt the surface and create a tactile design.

The studs are not perfectly identical. They vary slightly in size, height, and distance, like elements of a protection progressively built around the body of the vase. Light concentrates on the protruding parts, while the areas between one relief and another remain deeper and shadowy.

The black hue comes from firing under straw and varies from charcoal to anthracite. Shell polishing brightens the tops of the reliefs, reinforcing the contrast with the background. The vase can be placed on a coffee table, a sideboard, or a bookshelf, preferably without compositions that hide its texture.

Use and care

The terracotta is not internally glazed and retains a natural porosity. Use Scudo Primitivo as a decorative sculpture or with dried elements; do not fill it with water. Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth.

The charm of handmade

Each stud is molded and applied directly by Hanene. The rhythm of the surface therefore does not follow an industrial grid but retains pauses, differences, and variations. A ceramic vase selected by Vicode for the compact strength of its shape and the almost protective character of its texture.
