Ganesha mask is an Indian decorative sculpture in hand-carved and hand-painted wood. The elephant-headed deity's face is interpreted through a palette of white, yellow, red, and black, while maintaining the recognizable main elements of traditional iconography.

Product Description

The figure of Ganesha is immediately recognizable by his elephant head and frontal facial construction. In this mask, the carving simplifies the features, leaving it to the painting to highlight the different parts of the composition.

White, red, yellow, and black are distributed across the carved surface and react differently to light depending on the depth of the reliefs. The effect is graphic but not flat: viewed from the side, the mask reveals its thickness and traces of manual carving.

It can be displayed on a wall, on a stand, or inside a bookshelf. I would place it relatively isolated, avoiding an accumulation of generically “ethnic” objects: in this way, the sculptural quality of the wood and the specific value of the iconography emerge better.

Use and care

Do not wet the mask. Protect from high humidity, heat sources, and direct sunlight. To clean, use only a soft, dry cloth, without detergents or polishing products.

Carving and painting are done manually and retain small differences in edges, solid areas, and color transitions. These variations are what distinguish the artifact from a printed or mass-produced decoration.
