The Archaic Face concentrates its power in a few strokes. Eyes, nose, and mouth are reduced to essential marks, while the irregular surface of the terracotta prevents the face from appearing static or perfectly symmetrical.

The original record attributes the artifact to the Mediterranean area between the 19th and early 20th centuries and links it to rural folk traditions. It is preferable to retain this cautious phrasing, avoiding transforming the object into a documented ritual testimony beyond what we actually know.
