Wine-colored Lattice – Glazed Ceramic Geometric Sculpture

Vinaccia Grid appears to be built like a small architectural piece. A rectangular perimeter contains openings of different sizes and proportions, distributed without aiming for perfect symmetry. Some rise vertically, others widen; between them remain septa and planes that transform the grid into a three-dimensional composition.

Viewed frontally, the sculpture almost has the power of an abstract drawing. The solids define the rhythm and the voids interrupt the continuity of the material. However, shifting one's gaze, the five centimeters of depth completely change the interpretation: each opening becomes a small cavity and the internal planes gain weight.

The Vinaccia enamel holds the structure together. It is a deep color, suspended between dark red and burgundy, appearing more vibrant in illuminated areas while becoming almost brownish in the cavities. The reflective surface amplifies these variations and allows light to highlight edges, thicknesses, and irregularities.

The light-colored sides deliberately interrupt the chromatic continuity. Viewed from a three-quarter angle, the piece thus shows two different natures: the dark, enameled front, which is more graphic, and the light body, which reveals the physical thickness of the ceramic.

Slight variations in the enamel and small signs of the crafting process remain perceptible. The geometry is precise in its conception, but the material is not transformed into an industrially perfect surface: it is precisely this distance between order and irregularity that gives it character.

Selected in La Bisbal d’Empordà, Vinaccia Grid enters the Echi di Geometria collection, where modular structures, openings, and relationships between solids and voids are stripped of their function and observed as small autonomous sculptures.

On a console, bookshelf, or shelf, it works well both as an isolated presence and in relation to more neutral materials. Leaving free space behind the structure, the background also enters the openings and continuously modifies the composition.

Vinaccia Grid is a unique piece. Variations in enamel, color, and surface are part of its identity.

Glazed ceramics should be handled with care. For routine cleaning, use a soft, dry cloth; when necessary, you can gently wipe with a cloth lightly dampened with water and immediately dry the surface. Avoid harsh detergents, abrasive sponges, impacts, and thermal shocks.
