Olive Sequence – Geometric Sculpture in Green Glazed Stoneware

Sequenza Oliva works on repetition. Three rectangular openings, arranged one above the other, construct a simple but extremely legible vertical structure. The rhythm arises precisely from their regularity: solid, void, solid, void, transforming a small volume into a kind of miniature architecture.

However, the four-centimeter depth prevents the sculpture from being perceived as a simple frontal drawing. Observed from the side, each opening gains thickness; the internal planes collect light and produce shaded areas that change depending on the observation angle.

The olive green glaze concentrates the color on the front and inside the cavities, while the light side surfaces make the construction of the volume more evident. This contrast allows for an immediate understanding of the relationship between face, depth, and material.

The form is rigorous, but the surface is never entirely so. Small variations in the glaze, slight irregularities, and differences in tone keep the artisanal nature of the ceramic visible and prevent the object from becoming purely graphic.

Selected in La Bisbal d’Empordà, Sequenza Oliva enters the Echi di Geometria collection, where modules, openings, and solids and voids are observed as autonomous elements and transformed into small sculptural presences for interiors.

Its narrow and vertical proportion makes it particularly suitable for a bookshelf, a shelf, or a composition of objects of different heights. By leaving free space behind the openings, the background of the environment enters the sculpture and visually modifies its design.

Glazed ceramics must be handled with care. For routine cleaning, use a soft, dry cloth; when necessary, gently wipe with a cloth slightly dampened with water and immediately dry the surface. Avoid harsh detergents, abrasive sponges, impacts, and sudden changes in temperature.
