Spotted Ivory is a Sejnane ceramic vase hand-modeled by Mufida and smoothed with river stones. The rounded base narrows and then reopens into a slightly flared neck, while the ivory background is marked by dark spots produced by contact with flames and smoke.

Product Description

"Maculato Ivory" interprets Sejnane pottery using an unusually bright palette. The light tone of the clay remains predominant, allowing dark firing marks to emerge as isolated signs rather than completely enveloping the form.

The shape originates from a full, rounded base, narrows in the middle, and ends with a flared opening similar to a small chalice. This progression gives the vase a gentle movement, balancing the lower mass with the lightness of the neck.

Mufida smooths the surface with river stones, making it compact and pleasant to the touch. The black and grey speckles interrupt this continuity and document the points where smoke most intensely met the clay. The vase can be displayed on a dark wood sideboard, a stone console, or against a colored wall, where the ivory background maintains a particular luminosity.

Use and Care

Terracotta is porous and not glazed internally. Use "Maculato Ivory" as a decorative vase or with dry arrangements; do not pour water into it. Clean exclusively with a soft, dry cloth.

The Charm of Handmade

The spots are not painted, and the shape is not obtained from a mold. Each mark records a different exposure to the flame, while the profile retains Mufida's gesture. A vase selected by Vicode for the delicacy with which it combines light, earth, and authentic imperfection.
