Anima Terrena is a ceramic bottle vase from Sejnane, hand-shaped by Habiba. The slender form is covered with a black surface with metallic reflections, crossed by irregular burnt-sienna and smoke-grey patches.

Product Description

Anima Terrena takes the essential shape of the bottle and makes it more organic through completely manual modeling. The body gradually narrows towards the neck, maintaining small variations that give the silhouette a lively flow.

The surface does not have a uniform color. The metallic black from the firing alternates with warmer areas where the terracotta shade re-emerges, and with grey passages produced by the smoke. The vase thus offers a different composition on each side and invites periodic rotation.

Polishing with seashells compacts the surface and adds a satin luminosity, particularly evident under side lighting. Anima Terrena can be displayed on a sideboard, a console, or a deep shelf, either alone or with a slender dry branch.

Use and Care

Sejnane terracotta is naturally porous. Use the vase as a decorative sculpture or with dry arrangements; do not pour water into it. Dust with a soft, completely dry cloth.

The profile, smoking, and distribution of warm tones depend on Habiba's work and the firing conditions. Each side tells a different passage of the material through the fire. A design vase selected by Vicode for its ability to combine an archetypal form with a profoundly individual surface.
