Ritual Sculpture is a ceramic vase from Sejnane, entirely hand-molded by the artisan Mufida.

Its cylindrical shape is punctuated by three-dimensional reliefs, while firing with fire and smoke creates a polychrome surface in shades of black, ivory, and burnt earth. It is part of the Malles x Vicode collection.

Product Description

Mufida creates Scultura Rituale (Ritual Sculpture) without using a potter's wheel, developing an open cylindrical volume that evokes the essential form of an ancient ceremonial vessel. The applied reliefs on the surface break the regularity of the body and create a variable sequence of light and shadow.

The coloration comes directly from traditional firing. Irregular contact with fire and smoke produces black areas with metallic reflections, burnt earth tones, and lighter areas. There is no predetermined design; the firing process defines the final composition.

Due to its proportions, the vase can be placed on a sideboard, a bookshelf, or a central table. The tactile surface emerges with particular strength next to natural wood, stone, burnished metals, and neutral-toned fabrics.

Use and Care

Sejnane terracotta, fired at low temperatures and unglazed internally, retains a natural porosity. Use the vase as a decorative sculpture or with dry arrangements; do not pour water into it. Dust with a dry cloth.

The Charm of Handmade

Scultura Rituale originates from the ceramic knowledge of the women of Sejnane and exists outside the logic of serial production. Reliefs, nuances, and firing marks preserve Mufida's touch and make each piece unique. A piece selected by Vicode for the strength of its material and the value of its tradition.
