"Menina Roja" Vase

The structure of Menina Roja starts with a wide base that gradually narrows towards the top. The shape recalls the volume of 17th-century skirts, but it is simplified into an abstract silhouette, recognizable even without knowing the pictorial reference.

The red glaze covers the body intensely and uniformly, following the curves of the ceramic and reflecting light on the most prominent parts. The brilliant surface makes the color even deeper and strengthens the relationship between the historical nature of the inspiration and the contemporary language of the piece.

It can be placed in the center of a table, on a console, or on a wide shelf. The red emerges particularly effectively next to light stone, dark wood, burnished metals, and neutral walls.
