Corazza di Terra (Earth Armor) is a sculptural vase made of black Sejnane ceramic, hand-shaped by artisan Hanene. Its compact, cylindrical volume is covered with rows of reliefs reminiscent of ancient armor.

The firing with fire and smoke creates anthracite and metallic gray nuances, enhanced by polishing with seashells.

Product Description

Despite its small size, Corazza di Terra possesses significant weight and a particularly stable presence. Its cylindrical body concentrates matter into a compact volume, more akin to a small monolith than a traditional vase.

The surface is marked by rows of reliefs applied to the still-soft clay. Their arrangement recalls the plates of armor, a compact bark, or the protective covering of an organism. When light strikes the piece from the side, the protruding parts become brighter and the indentations deepen, making the structure even more pronounced.

Firing under straw produces a range of blacks and grays that change along the perimeter. Polishing with seashells intensifies reflections on the tops of the reliefs, leaving the inner areas duller. The vase can be displayed on a sideboard, a deep shelf, or a low plinth, preferably without floral arrangements.

Use and care

Sejnane terracotta retains a natural porosity and is not glazed internally. Use Corazza di Terra as a decorative sculpture or with dry elements; do not pour water inside. Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth.

The charm of handmade

Each relief is constructed by Hanene and reacts differently to flame, smoke, and polishing. The surface therefore does not follow a perfectly repeatable module but retains an individual rhythm.
