Riccio di Terra is a designer ceramic vase from Sejnane, hand-molded by artisan Marowa.

Numerous conical protuberances emerge from its globular volume, while fire and smoke firing create a polychrome surface in shades of charcoal, grey, and burnt earth. It is part of the Malles x Vicode collection.

Product Description

Marowa creates Riccio di Terra starting with a low, globular body. Conical protrusions are shaped and applied to the surface, transforming the compact form into a tactile object whose profile changes depending on the viewing angle.

The chromatic nuances come from open-air firing under straw. Smoke produces charcoal and gray areas, while in less exposed areas, the warm tones of the earth re-emerge. Polishing with seashells compacts some parts of the surface without erasing its natural irregularity.

Due to its weight and proportions, the vase is suitable for a coffee table, a deep sideboard, or a low pedestal. The richness of its texture suggests leaving it free-standing, surrounded by a few elements and lit from the side.

Use and care

Unglazed terracotta is naturally porous. Use Riccio di Terra as a decorative sculpture or with dry arrangements; do not fill it with water. Clean with a soft, dry cloth, without detergents.

The charm of handmade

Riccio di Terra retains every stage of Marowa's work: shaping, applying the reliefs, polishing, and firing. Variations in surface and color are not defects but make the handmade origin of the piece visible. A vase selected by Vicode for its material and unique presence.
