Nero Ancestrale is a designer black ceramic vase from Sejnane, freely hand-modeled by Farida.

The spherical volume is smoothed with river stones and seashells, while the deep black, crossed by anthracite and metallic reflections, is born from the smoke during firing under straw.

Product Description

The form of Nero Ancestrale is compact and seemingly elementary. Observed closely, however, the sphere reveals slight variations in its profile, giving it the character of a polished stone, a seed, or a small celestial body.

Farida works the surface for a long time with river stones and seashells. The polishing does not create a uniform brilliance: some areas reflect more light, while others remain more opaque and retain a direct relationship with the earth.

The dark color does not come from glaze. During firing under straw, smoke penetrates the clay and generates a range of blacks, grays, and metallic reflections. Placed on a coffee table, a credenza, or a shelf, the vase can be observed as an autonomous presence, without the need for floral elements.

Use and care

The terracotta from Sejnane retains a natural porosity and is not glazed internally. Do not fill the vase with water. Use it as a decorative sculpture or with dry elements and clean it exclusively with a soft, dry cloth.
