Rilievo Vulcanico is a sculptural design vase made of Sejnane ceramics, hand-molded by Marowa. The bulbous body and slender neck are covered with organic protuberances, while smoke black, anthracite, and ochre flames create a dense, three-dimensional surface.

Long description

Rilievo Vulcanico transforms the vase into an expanding surface. Numerous protuberances emerge from the bulbous body, modeled and applied by Marowa like buds, knots, or small mineral formations.

The reliefs do not merely decorate the piece: they modify the profile, capture shadows, and create a physical relationship with light. The protruding parts become more evident, while the gaps take on darker and deeper tones.

The firing completes this tactile geography. Smoke black and anthracite dominate the surface, but are interrupted by ochre and burnt earth passages that seem to emerge from an underlying layer. The vase can be placed on a credenza or a pedestal, left completely free so as not to hide the complexity of its structure.

Use and care

Terracotta is porous and not internally glazed. Use Rilievo Vulcanico exclusively as a decorative sculpture or with dry elements; do not fill with water. Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth, without applying pressure to the reliefs.

The charm of handmade

Each protuberance is individually constructed and reacts differently to firing. The rhythm of the surface and the distribution of the flames cannot be replicated. A ceramic vase selected by Vicode for the almost geological strength of its material and its intense tactile presence.
