Orizzonte Oscuro (Dark Horizon) is a monumental Sejnane ceramic vase, hand-shaped by Farida. Standing 43 centimeters tall, it features a bulbous body and an exceptionally slender neck.

The crackled surface is dominated by charcoal black, interrupted by ochre highlights generated by firing under straw.

Product Description

*Orizzonte Oscuro* (Dark Horizon) establishes a distinct vertical presence in space. The lower body is full, generous, and stable; from this base emerges a slender, sinuous neck that draws the eye upward, lending lightness to a substantial volume.

The dark surface is not uniform. A dense craquelure texture runs through the charcoal black, while sudden ochre passages reveal the natural color of the earth. Up close, the vase's skin appears similar to parched earth or a mineral formation; observed from a distance, it becomes a deep and almost monochromatic mass.

Due to its height and weight, *Orizzonte Oscuro* requires a stable and sufficiently clear placement. It can be displayed on a deep sideboard, a central table, or a low pedestal. A raking light makes the crazing legible and highlights the variations between black, grey, and ochre.

Use and Care

Terracotta is porous and not glazed internally. Use the vase as a standalone sculpture or with very lightweight dried branches; do not fill it with water. Move it by supporting it from the base and clean it with a soft, dry cloth.

The construction of such a tall form requires a continuous balance between weight, clay moisture, and vertical development. The profile retains Farida's work, while craquelure and nuances result from firing. A designer vase selected by Vicode for its silent grandeur and profoundly unrepeatable material.
