Fossil Architecture is a black ceramic design vase from Sejnane, hand-shaped by Hanene without a wheel or molds. The cylindrical body, pronounced shoulder, and short neck create a silhouette resembling a small archaic architecture.

The black finish, with graphite and anthracite reflections, results from firing under straw.

Product Description

Fossile Architecture evokes the solidity of a tower, a silo, or an ancient ceremonial container. The cylindrical body develops along a clear vertical axis, interrupted by the marked shoulder and the short, tapered neck. The slight asymmetries prevent the geometry from appearing rigid and keep the handmade construction legible.

Hanene models the clay according to the ceramic knowledge of the women of Sejnane, recognized by UNESCO. The black color does not come from an applied glaze: during firing under straw, smoke penetrates the material and generates variations ranging from charcoal to graphite. Polishing with seashells makes some areas more compact and luminous, while leaving others intentionally opaque.

The vase can be placed on a sideboard, a console table, or inside a niche. Its architectural form dialogues with light stone, natural woods, burnished metals, and minimalist environments, where it can exist as an autonomous presence without floral arrangements.

Use and care

The terracotta is porous and not glazed internally. Use Fossile Architecture as a decorative sculpture or with dried branches; do not pour water inside. Clean exclusively with a soft and completely dry cloth.

The charm of handmade

The profile is not created from a mold, and the dark finish is not applied industrially. The shape, polishing, and smoking preserve Hanene's touch and make each piece unique. A ceramic vase selected by Vicode to connect architecture, material, and artisan memory.
