Designer Vases: Ceramic and Sculptural Forms for Interiors

The Vicode Designer Vases collection brings together a curated selection of ceramic vases, terracotta pieces and sculptural forms discovered through international ateliers, artisans and research. Unique pieces and small productions are chosen for the quality of their materials, the originality of their forms and their ability to engage with contemporary interiors.

From handcrafted ceramic vases to more essential forms, from large decorative vases to sculptural pieces, each object is selected to inhabit a space beyond its purely functional purpose.

The designer vases selected by Vicode emerge from different languages, places and making traditions. The collection includes handcrafted ceramic vases, natural and glazed terracotta, hand-modelled pieces, Mediterranean forms and more contemporary interpretations. Raw textures, glazes, firing marks and subtle irregularities make many pieces distinct from one another and reveal the material from which they were created.

A vase can hold flowers, but it can also exist within an interior as an independent object. For this reason, the Vicode selection brings together decorative vases with essential proportions alongside sculptural vases, large-scale forms and unique pieces capable of becoming a focal point in a living room, on a console or sideboard, or within a contract interior.

Colour, scale and material create different relationships with a space. A pale ceramic surface can work in continuity with stone and neutral tones, while a black, polychrome or highly textured piece can introduce contrast and depth. The collection is shaped by the relationship between function, formal research and the ability of an object to engage with architecture.

Alongside contemporary pieces, Vicode seeks objects connected to different ceramic traditions and places. When a vase is made by hand, variations in form, colour, glaze and surface are not imperfections to be removed, but traces of the process that make each piece individual.
